What do you think about "Heroin mum jailed in Bangkok" story?

This is the article that wrote about the mother jailed for carrying heroin who is Jane McKenzie. She & accomplices attempted to carry 115g of heroin from Bangkok to Sydney. She was arrested by Australian police & transferred to the Thailand government. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

I think the sentence given to Jane McKenzie was too severe because she was only carrying a small quantity of heroin & her children are very young, once is six year old and other once is four year old. When she came back from prison, they will be in their mid-50s. While they grew up, she won't take care, look after & teach them. Absolutely, She must be punished by law but i think for humanity this is a severe sentence for her.
